I am a Berliner.

Its not very often I get to quote JFK. Fred, Steve, and I were on a bike ride through the German countryside to the Netherlands when a squall started so we headed into a little cafe. Fred asked if I wanted anything, I said cinnamon roll and went to find a seat. He returned with a jelly doughnut. Here are a few pictures of the pastoral landscape as well.

For those of you, like Jess, who couldn't follow my narrative. "Ich bin ein Berliner" is what Kennedy said while visiting Berlin in 1963 just after the Berlin wall was erected. The story reported in publications including the New York Times was that this phrase translates directly to "I am a jelly doughnut". While a jelly doughnut is called a Berliner, as we found out last week, it was reported that citizens of Berlin do not call themselves Berliners when in fact they do, according to Wikipedia and urbanlengends.com.

A recent post of mine reminded me of this. Are our blogs too cryptic? Or just not funny?

I can't believe that I have zero comments on that one.

That binary clock was indeed cryptic. You can explain it to me later. Cryptic is good in a blog though, doncha think?
