It's impossible to catch up on all the exciting things we've done since I last posted, but here's one fun, seasonal thing: we visited Terry's Berries farm (a mere 15 minutes from our house!) and had a super fun autumn experience with our friends Matt, Angie, and Sascha.

It was a gorgeous grey-sky Northwest day.

We walked out to the apple orchard, which I didn't even know we had on the West side of the mountains.

The trees were really small, and Viola picked a few, but was more interested in chasing the free-ranging chickens and Sascha.

After a tractor ride back to the barn, we set about making our cider.

Washing the apples, and then pressing them.

The next day, we gave Viola her first taste of cider. After initial skepticism, she pronounced it, smiling, "like juice!" A rare thunderstorm erupted while we were at the table, and I asked her if she heard the thunder. After listening for it, she held up her cider cup and said "cider hear it?" Clearly she and cider had quickly become good friends.

How cold is It????? It looks FREEZING but considering some of the photos where people are in light jackets and Viola's cheeks, nose, and chin aren't red, it must not be that cold lol! How has the weather been there?
